The invention refers to a method for the sterilization of culture media for the commercial micropropagation of plants using silver (NPsAg) nanoparticles. The contamination caused by microorganisms is one of the main problems affecting the industry of plant micropropagation. The presence of microorganisms affects the results or even may kill the plant tissue cultivated in vitro. In previous experiments it has been shown that NPsAg removes contaminating agents. In addition, in doses of 25-50 mg L-1, silver nanoparticles have shown a positive effect over the cellular development. This method is performed in four main steps: 1. washing the caps and containers of culture medium, 2. manufacturing of media, applying NPsAg and 4. Storing and using the media. The technical advantages presented by the invention are the following: reduction in the time used for manufacturing the culture media, reduction of power consumption, reduction of losses by contamination and increase in the development of the plant tissues. The development of this invention is based on a rapid, affordable and efficient method for sterilizing liquid and semiliquid culture media using NPsAg. This method has not been reported in commercial micropropagation systems.
|
