A digital gamma correction unit includes: a memory storing default gamma reference data, first correction gamma reference data generated by increasing the respective data units included in the default gamma reference data, and second correction gamma reference data generated by decreasing the respective data units included in the default gamma reference data; and a selection unit which receives the brightness data measured on a display panel, compares the brightness data with a preset gamma reference range, and selects one of the default gamma reference data, first correction gamma reference data, and second correction gamma reference data to output the gamma reference data. The display device can enhance the display quality.
