The present invention relates to a composition for improving water solubility of α-naphthoflavone and a method thereof and, more specifically, to a composition and a method for improving water solubility of a poorly water soluble flavonoid comprising hydroxypropyl cyclosophoraose as an active ingredient. The present invention comprises hydroxypropyl cyclosophoraose represented by chemical formula 1. Accordingly, HP Cys enables to effectively increase solubility of α-NF in comparison with β-CD.
