<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arithmetic unit capable of avoiding deterioration in calculation accuracy of a rotation angle of a motor generator 10 calculated based on an output signal of a resolver 20. <P>SOLUTION: The arithmetic unit calculates an error correlation amountεc having correlation with an actual rotation angleθof a resolver 20 on the basis of a pair of output signals of the resolver 20 and a rotation angleϕcalculated in an R/D converter. A rotation angleϕof the motor generator 10 is calculated based on an operation amount for feed-back controlling the error correlation amountεc to 0.
