737,993. Textile drawing rollers. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN GES., [formerly VEREINIGTE KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN AKT.-GES.]. May 25, 1951 [May 30, 1950], No. 12365/51. Class 120(2). [Also in Group XXXIV] A top drawing roller comprises a shaft and a sleeve-like body portion carrying the outer race ring of a double-row ball bearing which race ring internally carries a separately-formed spacing member between and in engagement with the rows of balls and is of a size to permit a small amount of essential play. By locating body portions unsymmetrically on the shaft, roller pairs of different pitch may be arranged (compare T1, T2 in Figs. 1 and '2). Spacer rings 4 are located between rows of balls 2 rotatable in grooves 10 in a shaft 1 and outer races 3 may be secured to rings 4 by pins 8 or annular clips. Dust covers 23 formed with lubricating holes 14 may be provided. Outer sleeves 5 unsymmetrically arranged on the bearings may be held in position by sleeves 17 and shoulders 19. Alternatively, spring clips partially embedded in grooves in the outer sleeves and abutting against grooves in the outer races 3 or against their ends may be employed. Identification marks on the outer ends of the body portions 5 may be used to indicate their offset positions for easy determination of pitch before assembly. |
