The present invention relates to an image stabilization device capable of performing a robust operation in a dynamic environment and a method thereof. The image stabilization device includes: a foreground image generation unit which generates a foreground image including the background and a dynamic object from a differential image between a predetermined reference image and the current image; a feature point selection unit which removes feature points corresponding to the dynamic object in the foreground image among feature points of the reference image and selects the feature points corresponding to the background; a motion calculation unit which tracks the selected feature points of the reference image from a next image inputted to find corresponding points and calculates the motion between the reference image and the next image by using the corresponding points; and an image correction unit which uses the motion to convert the next image and generates a stabilized image.
