<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bitmap font display device which installs only bitmap fonts for characters required for display in a flash memory, thereby minimizing the required memory size. <P>SOLUTION: A bitmap font display device, for expanding a bitmap font held in a flash memory to a VRAM according to an instruction of a CPU and transferring it to a display using a graphic controller, comprises a font management unit that is activated by the instruction of the CPU. The font management unit generates, during system initialization, a character string index table, a character string index table management table, a character code index correspondence table, and a minimum bitmap font table on the basis of a character string code table that has been stored in the flash memory in advance and a master font data provided through an external interface, and stores them in the flash memory. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
