PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent abnormal rotation of a photoreceptor, when the photoreceptor suspended during development is started.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor 201Y; and a developing roll having a developing sleeve 311Y with developer carried on a surface, and conveying the developer to a development position opposite the photoreceptor drum 201Y by moving the surface of the developing sleeve 311Y, to develop a latent image on the photoreceptor 201Y. When the photoreceptor suspended during development using the developing roll is started, the developing sleeve 311Y is rotated for a predetermined time (section 803), while the photoreceptor 201Y is stopped before starting rotation. |
