PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosslinker (vulcanizing agent) for sulfur-vulcanizable elastomers that improves wear properties of articles manufactured from the sulfur-vulcanizable elastomers, such as tear and abrasive wear, while maintaining hardness, lower tanδ values at temperatures above 40°C and increased tanδ values at temperatures from 5°C to -15°C.SOLUTION: A filled sulfur-vulcanizable elastomer composition comprises: (i) at least one sulfur-vulcanizable elastomer; (ii) at least one particulate filler; and, (iii) a crosslinking effective amount of, as a crosslinker, a sulfur-containing cycloaliphatic compound of the general formula (1) defined by G[-CH-S[C(=O)]R]. [G is a saturated, monocyclic aliphatic group of valence n containing 5 to 12 carbon atoms and optionally containing halogen; R is independently H or monovalent hydrocarbon of up to 20 carbon atoms; a is 2 to 6; b is 0 or 1; p is an integer from 0 to 3; and n is an integer from 3 to 6.]
