PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus configured to bring a heating member into contact with a belt-like fixing member in a wide range to heat it, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus includes: an endless fixing belt which is circulated and has an outer peripheral surface pressed against a recording sheet with a toner image held thereon; and a thin plate-like heating member which generates heat in contact with an inner peripheral surface of the fixing belt, to heat the fixing belt. The heating member is fixed and supported at one side in a circumferential direction of the fixing belt, comes into contact with the fixing belt along the circumferential direction, is deformed elastically and restrained in shape on the fixing belt, and pressed against a peripheral surface of the fixing belt by elastic repulsion. The heating member comes into contact with the fixing belt in an area where the fixing belt circularly moves in a bent shape and is bent to have a curvature radius larger than that of the fixing belt. The curvature radius is increased from fixed and supported one end to the other end. |
