PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved three-dimensional machine vision method and device.SOLUTION: A method and a system thereof for specifying an area of interest in a 3D imaging system having a plurality of cameras including at least a first camera and a second camera, each having a visual field placed along the inherent locus of the camera, has the steps of: placing a component at a position within the visual fields of the plurality of cameras; displaying, on the component, an area of interest existing in the visual field of each of the plurality of cameras; and, for each of the plurality of cameras, (i) acquiring at least one image of the component having the area of interest, (ii) identifying a field of interest inherent to the camera within the visual field of the camera correlated to the area of interest in the at least one image, and (iii) preserving the field of interest for use at a later time. |
