PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism which achieves miniaturization in an optical axis direction and improvement in impact resistance of an optical device with an optical member retractable from an optical path.SOLUTION: An optical device includes: a third group lens 2; a third group holder 3 holding the third group lens; a third group frame 8 to which the third group holder is movably attached so that the third group holder can be moved between an entrance position where the third group lens enters an optical path and a retraction position where the third group lens is retracted from the optical path; a third group base plate 9 to which the third group frame is movably attached; a third group lever 6 which is engaged with the third group holder to drive the third group holder between the entrance position and the retraction position; and a third group base plate pin 16 which restricts the amount of movement of the third group frame relative to the third group base plate. The third group base plate pin 16 is disposed so that a distance L1 from an engagement part between the third group holder and the third group lever in the entrance position to the third group base plate pin is longer than a distance L2 from an engagement part between the third group holder and the third group lever in the retraction position to the third group base plate pin.
