<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate glass cutting method for slicing a plate glass in a plane direction simply while reducing the material loss of the plate glass as much as possible.SOLUTION: To two sides of a core plate glass 2, there are jointed surface layer plate glasses 3 having a linear expansion coefficient different from that of the core plate glass 2, by an optical contact, and a jointed laminate 1 is subjected to a heat treatment accompanied by a temperature change. In this heat treatment, moreover, a tensile stress Ptz in the thickness direction is caused by the temperature change in the core plate glass 2 contained in the laminate 1, so that the core plate glass 2 is sliced in a plane direction.</p> |
