PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyethylene resin composition which can afford a fine porous film excellent in workability, air permeability, and mechanical strength, and to provide a fine porous film which can be obtained using the same as a raw material and a method for producing the same, and a separator for a battery.SOLUTION: A polyethylene resin composition comprises an ethylene homopolymer, having: a melt flow rate of 0.10 to 0.60 g/10 min; a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 6.0 to 20; a density of 956 to 970 kg/m; and, in cross fractionation chromatography using ortho-dichlorobenzene, the integral elution amount between 40°C and more and less than 91°C of 2.0 mass% or more and 15 mass% or less relative to the total elution amount, the integral elution amount between 91°C and more and less than 100°C of 40 mass% or more and 60 mass% or less relative to the total elution amount, and the integral elution amount between 100°C and more and less than 105°C of 30 mass% or more and 55 mass% or less relative to the total elution amount, and the integral elution amount between 105°C and more and less than 120°C of 5.0 mass% or less relative to the total elution amount. |
