<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam turbomachine valve having a valve member and a seal assembly.SOLUTION: A steam turbomachine valve 30 includes a valve body 40 having an inlet portion 42, an outlet portion 44, and an interior portion 52. The interior portion 52 includes an inner wall 54. A valve member 58 is slidably disposed within the interior portion 52 of the valve body 40. The valve member 58 includes an outer surface 65. A seal element 70 is mounted on, and extends about, the outer surface 65 of the valve member 58. The seal element 70 is separate from the inner wall 54 by a gap. A seal assembly is mounted on the inner wall 54. The seal assembly spans the gap and is configured and disposed to contact the seal element 70 of the valve member 58.</p> |
