<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection device capable of wiping a nozzle face while reducing frictional force between the nozzle face and a wiping member.SOLUTION: A liquid ejection device comprises nozzle arrays 23 formed on a nozzle face 28 and comprising a plurality of nozzles 22, a recording head 3 ejecting a liquid from the nozzles 22, and a wiping unit 11 having a liquid-holding wiping member 37. A first area W of the wiping member 37 made wet by landing of the liquid ejected from the nozzle 22 contacts the nozzle area An including the nozzle arrays 23 on the nozzle face 28, and a second area D deflecting from the first area W of the wiping member 37 contacts the non-nozzle area Aa deflecting from the nozzle area An of the nozzle face 28. While the recording head 3 and the wiping unit 11 are relatively moved into a nozzle array direction 23, the first area W wipes the nozzle area An, and the second area D wipes the non-nozzle area Aa.</p> |
