<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical ring resonator which can change a selected resonance frequency in a wide wavelength band, can reduce a loss accompanied by the change of the wavelength, and is excellent in a wavelength selectin property, and a wavelength selection switch.SOLUTION: A linear waveguide 11 and an annular waveguide 12 are arranged while approximating each other so as to be optically connectable to each other. The annular waveguide 12 has, at two points of an annular part, optical connecting parts 12c which are arranged while approximating each other so that a waveguide is not directly connected, and waveguides at an upstream side and a downstream side can be optically connected to each other. Moving means 13 is arranged for moving a part of the annular waveguide 12 so as to be capable of simultaneously changing a length of the annular part of the annular waveguide 12 and connecting lengths at the optical connect parts 12c.</p> |
