The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a tubular nuclear fuel rod, which comprises: a first step for preparing a rectangular nuclear fuel plate with nuclear fuel inside a covering material; and a second step for forming a tube by twisting the nuclear fuel plate manufactured by the first step into a spiral shape. The method for manufacturing a tubular nuclear fuel rod according to the present invention can easily manufacture a tubular nuclear fuel rod by twisting a rectangular nuclear fuel plate with nuclear fuel inside a covering material into a spiral shape. In addition, the tubular nuclear fuel rod manufactured by the manufacturing method is made not to completely divide the inside and the outside, which eliminates those phenomena occurring because the inside is sealed. Or, the inside is completely sealed but a protruding part is formed on the outer circumferential surface and nuclear fuel rods are juxtaposed so integration is possible. Therefore, the heat generated inside can be more easily discharged. Further, the tubular nuclear fuel rod can obtain a high heat removing efficiency through double cooling of cooling water, leading to an improved performance for research and safety.
