<p>The present invention relates to an electrolyzer and a manufacturing method for electrolyzer stacks and more specifically relates to an electrolyzer that includes a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) comprising a hydrogen electrode, an oxygen electrode and a separation layer, a distribution panel, a spacer and a sealing unit. But the sealing unit includes a fluid path that carries electrolytes and generated gas and also plays the roles of preventing leakages by completely sealing off the electrolyzer. A compressed porosity spacer for an electrolyzer according to the present invention can be used as a fluid path that helps regular gas discharges from electrodes and regular electrolyte supplies to electrodes while maintaining regular electric conductivity. The sealed area containing the electrode and the spacer can play the roles as a structure to provide an internal conveyance channel to discharge gas and supply electrolytes to the electrodes and also enables tight sealing. The manufacturing method for electrolyzer stacks has advantage of meeting the requirements such as tight sealing of each layer, and regular, and smooth discharge and supply of materials involving electrolysis by using cheap materials and simple processes.</p> |
