The present invention relates to a transmission device for a wireless personal area network (WPAN) communications system which creates sync headers, physical layer headers, and physical layer service data units; multiplexes the sync headers and the physical headers into bit strings; modulates the multiplexed bit strings by using a first differential phase modulation method; modulates the physical layer service data units by using a second differential phase modulation method; and multiplexes symbols modulated by the first and second differential phase modulation methods into symbol strings and then multiplexes and transmits the modulated symbol strings.
