A recording apparatus includes a setting unit which sets a recording medium; a transport unit which transports the recording medium; a detection unit which is provided in a transport path of the recording medium and detects the recording medium; and a control unit which controls the transport unit. The transport unit includes a drive roller which is provided to be capable of contacting a first surface of the recording medium and applies a sending force to the first surface, and a blowing unit which is provided in a position opposing the drive roller and is capable of blowing onto a second surface of the recording medium. When the detection unit detects the recording medium, the control unit controls the transport unit so as to cause air to be blown from the blowing unit.

a setting unit which sets a recording medium; a transport unit which transports the recording medium; a detection unit which is provided in a transport path of the recording medium and detects the recording medium; and a control unit which controls the transport unit, wherein the transport unit includes
