PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control device capable of more quickly converging transverse vibrations of a main rope than those of a main rope used in a conventional elevator.SOLUTION: A vibration control device 56, which is provided in a cage 12 of an elevator having the cage 12 suspended by a main rope and lifted/lowered by being guided by a guide rail 30 laid in a vertical direction, includes an oil damper 108 that is an attenuator attached to the cage 12, and a stationary member 110 that is pressed against the guide rail 30 via the oil damper 108 during stop of the cage 12 and fixed to the guide rail 30 by a frictional force generated between itself and the guide rail 30. The oil damper 108 imparts resistance to a vertical motion of the cage 12 associated with transverse vibrations of the main rope. |
