PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to use a light pen at an appropriate, not too far, distance and angle with respect to an image display screen, and to enable quick response in the event of a trouble.SOLUTION: A drawing device includes; a reception unit for receiving signals from a light pen that generates a signal representing x and y coordinates computed by receiving light emitted by an image display device and a signal representing a photoreception state of the image display device; a drawing unit for producing an image signal in accordance with the signal representing the x and y coordinates; and a pen state display unit for producing an image signal showing the photoreception state using the signal representing the photoreception state. The pen state display unit produces an image signal that shows whether or not the light pen is in a first photoreception state, in which emission for y-coordinate detection and emission for x-coordinate detection being received have light intensities equal to or more than a predetermined threshold. |
