PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for efficiently cleaning an air conditioner duct comprising an exhaust duct communicating with an exhaust side air conditioner including an exhaust device and an air supply duct communicating with an air supply side air conditioner, and a cleaning method.SOLUTION: A cleaning system includes: a bypass duct 6 for configuring a passage communicating with an air supply duct 4 and an exhaust duct 5; an opening/closing damper 61 for opening/closing the passage; and dust collection means 32 disposed on an exhaust side air conditioner 3. When the passage is opened by the opening/closing damper 61, dust in the air supply duct 4 is sucked to the exhaust side air conditioner 3 via the bypass duct 6 and collected in the dust collection means 32. When the passage is closed by the opening/closing damper 61, the dust in the exhaust duct 5 is sucked to the exhaust side air conditioner 3 by an exhaust device 33 and collected in the dust collection means 32.
