<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately identify an area in which a terminal is positioned, in performing multistage processing type zone presence detection.SOLUTION: A position identification device according to one embodiment includes: an area type determination unit for determining, for each area, whether the area is a first area in which received radio waves have a characteristic belonging to a single radio wave origination source or a second area other than the first area; a belonging group determination unit which creates, for each of a plurality of first areas, a group including the first area and makes a second area belong to a plurality of groups whose radio wave characteristics are correlated to those of the second area; and a terminal position identification unit which identifies, on the basis of a characteristic of a radio wave acquired by a terminal, one group in which the terminal is positioned from the groups and identifies one area in which the terminal is positioned from the areas belonging to the one group.</p> |
