<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool breakage detector for a machine tool, capable of suppressing an increase in maintenance management and efficiently detecting breakage of a tool.SOLUTION: A tool breakage detector for a machine tool including a spindle 14; a tool magazine 16 that can accommodate a plurality of tools 15; and an automatic tool exchanger 17 automatically exchanging one tool 15 with another 15 between the spindle 14 and the tool magazine 15, comprises an image recognition device that includes an imager 19a picking up an image of the before-processing tool 15 transported from the tool magazine 16 to the spindle 14 by the automatic tool exchanger 17 and an image of the after-processing tool 15 transported from the spindle 14 to the tool magazine 16 by the automatic tool exchanger 17, and an image processor 19b detecting breakage of the tool 15 by comparing the image of the before-processing tool 15 and the image of the after-processing tool 15 that are picked up by the imager 19a with each other.</p> |
