PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine which performs air cooling of a starter motor and an electronic control device without idling an engine even if rotation of the starter motor is stopped.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine includes: a starter motor having a first shaft which rotates coaxially with a rotary shaft of a rotor; a cooling fan to which power is applied from the first shaft, the cooling fan coaxially rotating with the first shaft; and an electronic control device which controls power supply to the starter motor. Further, the rotary electric machine includes: a sub motor having a second shaft and driven independently of the starter motor; and a one-way clutch part which coaxially connects the second shaft with the first shaft and restricts a rotation direction of the second shaft relative to the first shaft. The cooling fan rotates with the second shaft coaxially with the rotary shaft. The electronic control device rotationally drives the sub motor to rotate the cooling fan when at least the starter motor is stopped. |
