PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic detection element excellent in detection sensitivity and detection accuracy of a magnetic field while having a compact configuration.SOLUTION: A magnetic detection element 1 for detecting an external magnetic field Hex in a +X direction, includes: an MR element 2 having a magnetization free layer and a magnetization fastening layer of a synthetic structure, which includes, in the order from a side that is near the magnetization free layer, a first ferromagnetic layer having magnetization J251 in the +X direction, a coupling layer, and a second ferromagnetic layer antiferromagnetically coupled to the first ferromagnetic layer via the coupling layer; and bias magnets 3A, 3B for applying a bias magnetic field Hb in a -Y direction with respect to the MR element 2. |
