PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of safely separating oil content with small energy consumption from an oil-containing scale with an average particle diameter of 50μm or less which contains the oil content, water content or the like and from which it is difficult to separate the oil content.SOLUTION: There is provided a method including: a dispersion step of making a scale dispersion liquid by adding coarse particles to an oil-containing scale of 50μm or less and immersing it to a dispersion liquid for dispersion; an extraction step of adding a lipophilic organic solvent to the scale dispersion liquid and mixing and stirring it; an organic solvent phase separation step of separating the scale dispersion liquid into an oil-containing lipophilic organic solvent and the scale dispersion liquid; a water phase separation step of separating the scale dispersion liquid into a water phase and a scale phase; a degassing step of volatilizing the lipophilic organic solvent remaining in the scale phase for separation; a coarse particle recovery step of recovering the coarse particles from the scale phase; a distillation step of recovering the lipophilic organic solvent which does not contain oil content from the lipophilic organic solvent separated in the organic solvent phase separation step; an oil content measurement step of measuring the oil content percentage in the oil-containing lipophilic organic solvent after the organic solvent phase separation step; and a deoiling scale recovery step.
