An information processing device equipped with: an intention interpretation unit that interprets the intention of a question that has been input from a user; and an information extraction unit that extracts, from multiple items of knowledge information that include knowledge information pertaining to the user, basic answer information which is an answer to the question that has been interpreted by the intention interpretation unit, and supplemental answer information having a relation to the basic answer information. Each item of knowledge information includes multiple information elements and relationship information indicating relationships between the multiple information elements. The information extraction unit extracts the supplemental answer information from a group of information elements which have a direct relation (or a relation through one or more information elements) to an information element extracted as the basic answer information and information elements included in the knowledge information pertaining to the user. |
