PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner that sufficiently exhibits a fixing function and achieves higher development durability.SOLUTION: The toner comprises at least a binder resin and a release agent. When a cross-sectional longest diameter of a toner particle in a cross section of the toner particle and a cross-sectional longest diameter of the release agent included in the toner particle are observed by use of a scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM), a percentage of toner particles satisfying the following relational expression (2) relative to toner particles satisfying the following relational expression (1) is 20% by number or more and 80% by number or less. (1):2/3≤(cross-sectional longest diameter of a toner particle)/(volume average particle diameter of toner particles)≤1.5. (2):1/3≤(cross-sectional longest diameter of the release agent)/(volume average particle diameter of toner particles)≤1.0.
