PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which can exhibit superior charge and discharge cycle characteristics even in the case that an upper limit voltage at charging thereof is increased.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode having a positive electrode mixture layer including a positive electrode active material, a conductive assistant and a binder; and a negative electrode having a negative electrode mixture layer including a negative electrode active material and a binder. The positive electrode mixture layer includes, as the positive electrode active material, a lithium-containing metal oxide including at least Co and a particular amount of at least one element Mselected from a group consisting of Al and Mg, the content of the conductive assistant being over 0.5 to 2.0 mass%. The negative electrode mixture layer includes, as the negative electrode active material, graphite A having an average particle diameter of over 15 to 25 μm, and graphite B having an average particle diameter of 8 to 15 μm and consisting of graphite particles coated with amorphous carbon. |
