PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a variable valve train which holds valve characteristics using a cam, capable of suppressing a change in the amount of intake air resulting from the wear of the cam surface.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine includes a variable valve train 600 which includes a variable train part 300 for changing the valve characteristics of an intake valve 31, a control shaft 340 for allowing the operation of the variable train part 300, a cam 530 for abutting on the control shaft 340 to move the control shaft 340 in the axial direction, and a motor 210 for turning the cam 530. On the cam surface of the cam 530, a holding section is provided for holding the valve characteristics at fixed values. A motor control device 150 turns the cam 530 so that the amount of intake air approximates a threshold value when the amount of the intake air during holding the valve characteristics using the cam surface in the holding section deviates from the predetermined threshold value. |
