This portable wireless apparatus is provided with: a substrate having a ground plane; a housing having the substrate housed therein; and an antenna having a power supply element, which is connected to a power supply point having the ground plane as a ground reference, and a radiation element, which functions as a radiation conductor when supplied with power by being coupled to the power supply element by means of electromagnetic field coupling. The housing has a conductor connected in DC manner to the ground plane.
