PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide benzochromene derivatives to be used in a liquid crystal medium and as therapeutic active substances.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to benzochromene derivatives represented by formula (I), in which various parameters are defined as cited in the text. The present invention also relates to liquid crystal media containing the above compounds, to the use of the media in electro-optic displays, in particular in TN, OCB, LCOS and/or IPS LCDs, and to the use of the compounds and their physiologically acceptable derivatives as a therapeutic active substances. |
