<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save power consumption of an image forming apparatus having a human body detection device and applicable to a crime prevention system.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: imaging means for imaging a predetermined monitoring area; human detection means for detecting a human in a state in which power lower than the power necessary for driving the image forming apparatus is supplied; transmission means for transmitting image data imaged by the imaging means to the outside; control means for controlling the imaging means, the human detection means and the transmission means; and switching means for selectably switching between a first stand-by mode for transferring the amount of power necessary for imaging the predetermined monitoring area to the imaging means when the human detection means has detected a human, and a second stand-by mode for transferring the amount of power necessary for imaging the predetermined monitoring area to the imaging means regardless of the output of the human detection means. When the second stand-by mode has been selected, the transmission means transmits image data imaged by the imaging means to the outside.</p> |
