An electron emission device includes a number of second electrodes intersected with a number of first electrodes to define a number of intersections. An electron emission unit is sandwiched between the first electrode and the second electrode at each of the number of intersections, wherein the electron emission unit includes a semiconductor layer, an electron collection layer, and an insulating layer stacked together, and the electron collection layer is a conductive layer.

1. An electron emission device, comprising:
a plurality of first electrodes substantially parallel to each other and extending along a first direction; a plurality of second electrodes substantially parallel to each other and extending along a second direction, wherein the plurality of second electrodes intersect with the plurality of first electrodes to define a plurality of intersections; and a plurality of electron emission units; wherein each electron emission unit is sandwiched between one of the plurality of first electrodes and one of the plurality of second electrodes at each of the plurality of intersections; wherein the electron emission unit comprises a semiconductor layer, an electron collection layer, and an insulating layer stacked together; and the electron collection layer is a conductive layer.
