PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress or prevent degradation due to an ion concentration bias following charging/discharging.SOLUTION: A hybrid electric vehicle of the present invention comprises a controller exerting a discharge control over a nonaqueous secondary battery for vehicle required power, and starting an engine and exerting a travel control in response to the vehicle required power using power of the engine and electric power of the nonaqueous secondary battery. The controller calculates a first evaluation value for evaluating a degradation component degrading the output performance of the battery in response to an ion concentration bias in an electrolyte caused by discharging, and a second evaluation value for evaluating a degradation component degrading the input performance of the battery in response to the ion concentration bias in the electrolyte by charging. If the first evaluation value indicates a state in which the ion concentration bias is a bias to a discharging side, the controller exerts a control to lower a threshold. If the second evaluation value indicates that ion concentration bias is a bias to the charging side, the controller exerts a control to raise the threshold. |
