A method of monitoring a level of glycemic control in a subject during anti-diabetic therapy or treatment comprising: (a) providing an N-glycan composition of a blood or blood component sample obtained from the subject at a first time-point during the anti-diabetic therapy or treatment; and (b) determining an N-glycan composition of a blood or blood component sample obtained from the subject at a second time-point during the anti-diabetic therapy or treatment, wherein the second time-point is subsequent to the first time-point, wherein a difference between the N-glycan composition of the sample at the second time-point and the N-glycan composition of the sample at the first time-point indicates an increased or decreased level of glycemic control at the second time-point compared to the first time-point.
