X-SHAPED ZnO NANO-ROD, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE NANO-ROD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ZnO nano-rod controlled in its orientation so that it may grow obliquely of a substrate.SOLUTION: An X-shaped zinc oxide nano-rod has a rod diameter of a nono-meter size, and an angle made by the longitudinal axis directions is 10° to 120°. A thin film of zinc oxide is formed over an R surface sapphire substrate, and the substrate is immersed in a solution prepared by adding a base to an aqueous solution of zinc salt so that a plurality of zinc oxide nano-rods oriented in an X-letter state over a substrate are formed.
