PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable excellent in pinch characteristics, mechanical characteristics and temperature characteristics.SOLUTION: An optical cable 1 includes: a plurality of optical fibers 11; tensile strength fibers 12 for housing the plurality of optical fibers; and a thermoplastic resin. The optical cable 1 is equipped with a jacket 13 covering the tensile strength fibers. In the optical cable, when Young's modulus of the jacket at 0°C is denoted by E [MPa], cross-sectional area of the optical cable is denoted by S [mm], and inner diameter of the jacket of the optical cable is denoted by Di [mm], ES (0°C)[N] which is product of the Young's modulus E at 0°C and cross-sectional area S, and the inner diameter Di [mm] satisfy the following relation. |
