Provided are a photoacoustic measurement apparatus that improves the ease of observing photoacoustic images even when artifacts, which arise from photoacoustic waves generated at the surface of the object being examined where the measurement light enters, occur, and a signal-processing device and signal-processing method used in same. The photoacoustic measurement apparatus is provided with: a probe comprising a light-emitting sections for emitting measurement light towards the object being examined and an acoustic wave-detecting section, which is disposed side-by-side with the light-emitting sections and is for detecting photoacoustic waves generated inside the object being examined by the emission of the measurement light; an image-generating section for generating photoacoustic images on the basis of the photoacoustic waves detected by the acoustic wave-detecting section; and a display-processing section for performing display processing, which clarifies the observed region from positions corresponding to the surface of the object being examined in the photoacoustic image to the observable depth corresponding to the distance between the measurement light arrival region on the plane of contact and the acoustic wave detector, on the photoacoustic images. |
