This optical fiber holding component (1) is provided with: a ferrule (2); an optical fiber (3) of which the tip end is inserted into and affixed at the ferrule (2) and of which the back end side is led to the outside from the back end of the ferrule (2); a holder (4) that covers a portion of the optical fiber (3) led out from the back end of the ferrule (2) and that holds the back end of the ferrule (2); and a case (5) having a press-in region (5c), which is a portion of the tip end side of the holder (4) and pressed in the tip end side of the position of the base end surface of the ferrule (2), and a covering section (5f) that encircles the back end side of the holder (4) and has a greater inner diameter than the outer diameter of the holder (4). It is possible to reduce the force applied to the optical fiber (3) from the holder (4) via the back end of the ferrule (2). |
