<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill processing apparatus capable of driving a shutter and a stage by a common drive source while maintaining synchronous operations of the shutter and the stage.SOLUTION: A stage 43 and a shutter 44 can be driven by a common motor M by making transmission connections of a stage slide mechanism 430 with a motor through a drive force transmission mechanism and a shutter opening/closing mechanism 440 through the stage slide mechanism 430 respectively, and providing idling means of making the motor M idle when a load equal to or larger than a predetermined value is applied on the drive force transmission mechanism. When external force is applied to the shutter 44 to be closed and then the load equal to or larger than the predetermined value is applied on the drive force transmission mechanism, the idling means makes the motor M idle to maintain stop positions of the stage slide mechanism 430 and the shutter opening/closing mechanism 440, and the stage slide mechanism 430 and the shutter opening/closing mechanism 440 are made to operate synchronously from the stop positions at a restart after the release of the external force.</p> |
