<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound having a ring structure that develops a function of showing a negativeΔε, with theΔεbeing negative and having a large absolute value, for developing such a liquid crystalline compound that is chemically stable, has excellent solubility with other liquid crystal material or a non-liquid crystal material, and also that can achieve characteristics of fast responsiveness, low viscosity, wide liquid crystal temperature range, and a high clear point, by designing a bonding group to a connecting group, and a production method of the compound, and a liquid crystal composition and a liquid crystal electro-optical element comprising the above compound.SOLUTION: The compound is represented by formula (1) below; and in one embodiment, a compound having the following structure is presented.</p> |
