<p>The described system simultaneously uses an estimation of position and orientation of an image sensor and a geometric model of the scene, made available from a geographic database, to generate a coded flow of bits starting from a video sequence. Camera position and orientation data and geometric model of the scene are used by the video coding system to initialize the movement estimation. In particular, in the ground transmission scenario of video or images from air or satellite platforms, the estimation of camera position and attitude can be made available by the on-board navigation system.</p> |
