Disclosed is a detection system capable of detecting the presence and the direction of a target passing through an entrance and moving. The detection system comprises a magnet and a communications apparatus arranged in the entrance, and a smartphone and a server typically. The magnets are arranged in the entrance to generate a magnetic field across the entrance. When a target whose main body comprises a smartphone is passing through an entrance, a magnetometer of the smartphone detects a perturbation caused by a magnetic field, and generates a signal corresponding to the detected perturbation. Moreover, a processor of the smartphone processes signals, thereby detects the presence and the direction of the target passing through the entrance. Data generated by the processor and unique identification information related to the smartphone are transmitted to the server located far away. |
