<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston for an engine, high in rigidity despite its light weight. <P>SOLUTION: The piston 10 for the engine is integrally formed with a disk-like piston head 11; a pair of skirt parts 12 and a pair of pin boss parts 14 alternately located along the peripheral edge of the piston head 11; and a pair of skirt extension parts 13 extending from both circumferential ends of the pair of skirt parts 12 to the adjacent pair of pin boss parts 14. The pair of pin boss parts 14 are portions for mounting pins for connecting a connecting rod. The thickness T1 of the skirt parts is set to a range from 1.05 to 1.50 times the thickness T2 of the skirt extension parts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
