摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the likelihood of information on matter of interest because information on the matter of interest is acquired after eliminating a contribution part to reflection spectra by the photoabsorption of matter of non-interest. <P>SOLUTION: A wavelength variable element 68 variable in wavelength band of transmitted light is used to irradiate an observed site of a subject with a plurality of light different in wavelength band. Reflected light from the observed site is imaged by a CCD 35, and a reflection spectrum computing section 80 computes the reflection spectra based on imaging signals output from the CCD 35. A multiple regression analysis section 81 makes a multiple regression analysis of the reflection spectra S and absorption spectra (an) of the matter of interest such as blood and hemoglobin and the matter of non-interest such as bile and staining matter. An eliminating section 83 eliminates spectral components of matter of non-interest obtained by the multiple regression analysis, from the reflection spectra S.
