<p>This broadcast receiver, which is provided with an S-meter detection unit and searches for broadcast stations on the basis of detected S-meter levels, is configured in such a manner as to be provided with: a broadcast station detection and storage unit that temporarily stores S-meter levels detected with respect to all frequencies in a band by switching frequencies one step at a time; a broadcast station determination unit that determines that a frequency for which the temporarily stored S-meter level is greater than or equal to a prescribed value (B) set in advance has the potential to be a broadcast station, and determines that a frequency for which the S-meter level is less than the prescribed value (B) does not have the potential to be a broadcast station; a noise level calculation unit that calculates a noise level on the basis of the S-meter levels for all frequencies that were determined as not having the potential to be a broadcast station; and a stop level determination unit that determines a seek stop level (A) used in determining whether or not each frequency is a broadcast station on the basis of the calculated noise level. The broadcast receiver is thus capable of searching for broadcast stations with high precision according to the conditions at the time, regardless of the situation.</p> |
